Teachers, students, organizations with an interest in Japan, and the general public will be able to access resources chronicling the breadth and depth of our ties via our digital collection. For over 20 years, the NCTA has worked with thousands of K educators to provide high-quality professional development opportunities. Funded by the Freeman Foundation, NCTA gets teachers quickly up to speed on the histories, arts, cultures, politics, languages and literatures of East Asia, with a particular focus on China, Japan and Korea. The core of our professional development opportunities are our hour seminars for educators, taught by university faculty throughout our eleven state region of Alabama, Delaware, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In addition to our core seminars, we also host other professional development opportunities, such as workshops, webinars, online book discussions, and study tours to East Asia.

Asian Studies. Asian Studies at LSU is an interdisciplinary minor that draws upon the resources of a wide range of departments and provides a framework for a focused study of Asia. The goal of the Asian Studies Minor is to provide a broad background in Asian culture, language, history, and politics.
